Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry

Full-Time, Permanent Position 

Applications are invited for a single post of Assistant Professor working in any area of synthetic organic chemistry. Candidates should have an outstanding research track record, appropriate to their career stage, with research interests and expertise in the experimental application of organic chemistry. You will hold a doctorate in a relevant field and be able to demonstrate the ability to attract external funding to maintain an active research programme, and an effectiveness and enthusiasm as a teacher within the field of chemistry at university level. 

Warwick Chemistry is a growing community of 500 undergraduate students, 20 postgraduate taught students, 170 PhD students, 80 postdoctoral researchers, 40 academic staff, and 40 support staff. We deliver undergraduate degree programmes in Chemistry at MChem and BSc level and a suite of MSc programmes. Our research is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary, and is organised into four Research Clusters: Synthesis and Catalysis, Chemical, Structural and Synthetic biology, Materials and Polymers, Measurement and Modelling. We are close to the top of all UK league tables for chemistry, and 6th in the UK for grade point average in the REF2014 (Research Excellence Framework) exercise. We have outstanding facilities following recent major investment by the university. Our goal is to deliver excellent research and training in a supportive, enjoyable, and safe environment.
