Outstanding candidates in any other area of mathematics will also be considered. Candidates who bring expertise bridging current areas of research present in the university, or linking fundamental research to real-life applications will be viewed favourably. The successful candidate is expected to apply for joint and individual third-party funding (such as calls of the Luxembourg FNR, or of the European ERC program). Evidence of this ability (as portrayed by the candidate’s track record) will be a crucial selection criterion.
