The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree, and postdoctoral experience in cell biology, developmental biology, or a related field. Applicants with research interests in any area of cell and developmental biology are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates are expected to develop and maintain a vigorous extramurally funded research program, and participate in the education of both medical and graduate students.
The Department provides a collaborative research community with research interests that include understanding cellular processes mediated by cytoskeletal dynamics, cell biology of the nervous system, cancer biology, and differentiation and morphogenesis of tissues and organs. One of our strengths is the use of diverse model systems, which include human cell cultures, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, yeast, and C. elegans.
