Faculty Recruitment
Genetics of Human Disease

Geisinger is recruiting research faculty to investigate the genetic basis of human health and disease. Of particular interest are investigators that can leverage Geisinger’s unique resources, which include an exome sequence database of more than 140,000 patients (projected to reach 250,000 patients in the next 3-5 years) linked to 20-plus years of longitudinal health and medical data (Science 354: 1549-1559, 2016 PMID: 28008009)

Multiple positions at all faculty levels are available. We are seeking investigators with expertise in statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, functional genomics, bioinformatics, or related areas who will use Geisinger’s unique data resources to study the role of genetic variation in health and disease.

Successful applicants will have a track record of research productivity as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications. Applicants at the Associate Professor or Professor level should have a history of external research funding.

Recruited faculty will have full access to Geisinger’s genomic and clinical data resources, and opportunities to collaborate with investigators in other Geisinger research and clinical departments.

Generous start-up packages and competitive salaries and benefits are available.

Applicants should send a curriculum vitae that lists relevant publications, brief description of research interests, and a list of professional references to Lisa Farr at lafarr@geisinger.edu.

The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all-inclusive. They represent typical elements and criteria considered necessary to successfully perform the job.
