Assistant or Associate Professor Faculty Position

The Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Minnesota (UMN) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning July 1, 2020. The Department is housed in the College of Pharmacy (CoP), which is ranked #2 in the Nation as a Top Pharmacy School amongst its peers. Candidates are expected to establish, maintain, and direct an externally funded research program in medicinal chemistry and/or chemical biology. Applicants whose research interests focus on the development of chemical tools and/or therapeutics towards treating human cancers are especially encouraged to apply. Numerous supporting core resources and laboratories associated with the College of Pharmacy, the UMN Academic Health Center and Masonic Cancer Center are available to support the laboratory of the successful candidate. The position will be a twelve-month, full-time appointment, with expectations in teaching and service to both the PharmD professional curriculum and Medicinal Chemistry Ph.D. program.
Required qualifications include: an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or equivalent) in medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, chemistry or related discipline. Preferred qualifications include postdoctoral research experience. Applicants are expected to have demonstrated research productivity through peer-reviewed publications and be committed to a diverse environment. Associate Professor applicants are expected to have commensurate experience to merit appointment at that level including teaching experience and external research support.
