As an Assistant Editor of the European Journal of Immunology, you will be responsible for scientifically assessing and handling manuscripts throughout the peer-review process in conjunction with the Executive Committee of the Journal and other members of the in-house editorial team. In addition, you will commission content and actively contribute to the strategic development of the Journal, networking with the scientific community. You will also be responsible for editing reviews, news and other commissioned material, as well as for handling manuscripts from acceptance through to publication. You will also update news on the website and track the Journal’s progress by preparing reports detailing key performance indicators. As a member of the life sciences team, you will contribute to the development of Wiley’s life sciences portfolio.
Previous publishing experience is not required as full training will be provided. Applicants must have a PhD and a strong background in immunology, with postdoctoral immunological research being an advantage. An excellent command of the English language and strong communication (written and spoken) skills are required. You enjoy, and are capable of, working both in a team and independently, taking the initiative for establishing and driving projects forward and prioritising tasks, including administration, accordingly. You possess excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and computer skills, and the ability to multi-task and work under time pressure to meet deadlines is essential. You are comfortable with networking, demonstrate an enthusiasm for scientific publishing and enjoy learning new skills.
