The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, invites applications and nominations for a tenure track faculty position at the assistant or associate level to start in Fall 2020. Candidates are sought with interests that complement and expand upon current research and teaching activities in the Department. Applicants in all areas will be considered. Research areas of particular interest include computer engineering, data sciences, photonics and quantum materials and devices, high intensity lasers and applications, and radars.  This nine-month, full-time position will carry a salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. 


New faculty members will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical and/or computer engineering; advise graduate and undergraduate students; conduct innovative research; and provide service to the department, the university, and the professional community.


A successful candidate will have a doctorate in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related discipline, by the start date of the position; the potential to develop a vibrant sponsored research program; the ability to effectively teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels; and the interest to serve the department, university, and professional community. Reflecting departmental and institutional values, candidates are expected to have the ability to advance the Department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. This is a full-time, nine-month faculty position.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of research focus in any areas within the field of electrical and/or computer engineering
  • Demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to diversity


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates will be considered at the Assistant or Associate Professor level depending on qualifications


Assistant Professor:

  • Potential for a strong, internationally recognized research program
  • Potential to garner external support
  • Strength of publication record commensurate with experience, including number, impact, and quality of publications
  • Complement/expand upon the department’s current research and teaching activities
  • Potential for extraordinary scholarship
  • Teaching and mentoring potential and enthusiasm


Associate Professor:

  • Existing strong, internationally recognized research program
  • Demonstrated ability to garner external support
  • Strength of publication record commensurate with experience, including number, impact, and quality of publications
  • Complement/expand upon the department’s current research and teaching activities
  • Potential for continued extraordinary scholarship
  • Teaching and mentoring experience and enthusiasm
