The Tanz Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases at the University of Toronto has an opening for a Postdoc with PhD training in biochemistry, pharmacology, biology or related disciplines
We are an internationally-recognized team studying Alzheimer’s disease, tauopathies and prion disorders. Our research builds on the hypothesis that the most promising early diagnostics and disease intervention strategies will emerge from an in-depth understanding of disease etiologies.
The group has access to state-of-the-art equipment and is embedded in a stimulating research environment at the Tanz Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases (Tanz CRND). The Tanz CRND is a flag ship institute at the Krembil Discovery Centre, located next to the lively Kensington Market area in downtown Toronto.
As the successful candidate you will contribute to both basic discovery research and a pre-clinical translational research program.
Applicants with a PhD in biochemistry, pharmacology, biology or related disciplines are preferred. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with techniques used to decipher molecular underpinnings (cell biology, protein biology, protein-protein interactions, protein aggregation) of neurodegenerative diseases. Additional experience in pharmacology and medicinal chemistry are a plus.
If you are detail-oriented, possess solid problem solving skills and are an excellent communicator who thrives on teamwork, this position offers outstanding opportunities for further career development.
