Research Associate/ Technician Position

The laboratory of Tohru Yamada, PhD in the Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, College of Medicine, the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking research associate and/or assistant.

We have an exciting opportunity for highly motivated candidates to join our team to work within cancer biology, microbiome, tumor imaging, or related field. Our recent publications include EBioMedicine 2022 (PMID: 35108666), J. Med. Chem., 2022 (PMID: 35544687), and Commun. Biol., 2023 (PMID: 36609683).

The successful candidate will participate actively in the execution of research projects in our wet-lab and ensure the smooth functioning of the day-to-day activities. PhD and/or MD.

Job Responsibilities

·        Maintain compliance with good laboratory practice including the maintenance of adequate research records

·        Develop proficiency in research techniques and problem-solving abilities

·        Participate in manuscript and grant/fellowship writing

·        Collegial conduct toward co-trainees, staff members, and members of the research group

·        Experience with animal model(s) is a plus
