About our Team

We are recruiting for an in-house Editor to help further develop our broad scope Open Access journal Acta Psychologica. This is a superb opportunity for you join a motivated and creative team and play a critical role in the development of this journal.

About the Role

You will be responsible for overseeing the team, assuring all relevant and scientifically accurate research is considered for publication. You will drive the continued growth of the Journal in terms of quality and volume. This role can be based from our UK offices or Amsterdam.

Responsibilities

• Managing the editorial process of the journal and acting as the main point of contact for authors, reviewers and editors

• Establishing and maintaining close contacts with the scientific community in academia and industry

• Managing the peer review process of the multidisciplinary psychology sections

• Building a network of guest editors, scientific reviewers, and authors in multiple sub-specialties

• Working with the special issues editor on the solicitation of journal content in high-interest fields and emerging areas

Requirements

• Have a PhD in psychology

• Have a record of having published papers in scientific journals

• Be experimental, results-driven, and enthusiastic work attitude

• Have excellent communication skills, and excellent written and spoken English

• Have broad scientific interests and a passion for helping scientists publish their work

• Be a relationship builder and self-starter; ability to build relationships both within the scientific community as well as within Elsevier
