Join the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) where we investigate human development across the entire life process. NICHD’s mission is to lead research and training to understand human development, improve reproductive health, enhance the lives of children and adolescents, and optimize abilities for all. Our diverse intramural research program spans the basic, clinical, epidemiological, and computational biomedical sciences. Visit https://www.nichd.nih.gov/about/org/dir for more information about our intramural research programs.
Postdoc fellowship positions are currently available in the NICHD Divisions of Intramural Research and Population Health Research. For intramural trainee and fellowship positions: https://www.nichd.nih.gov/about/jobs.
Eligibility: The NIH Postdoctoral Program provides advanced training and research experience to PhD-level scientists who are at the beginning stages of their professional research careers. Candidates must hold a doctoral (or equivalent) degree and have no more than five years of relevant research experience since receipt of their most recent doctoral degree.
NICHD has close to 175 postdoctoral and research fellows in its laboratories, who contribute to a rich and diverse research community, supported by intellectual exchanges in lab meetings, journal clubs, interest groups, and through activities for trainees across NICHD in support of fellows' professional development.
Are you an international fellow? Be sure to check on immigration requirements and procedures. The NIH Division of International Services will support your investigator and administrative officer in facilitating your visa application process.
The NIH is dedicated to building a community in its training and employment and encourages the application and nomination of qualified women, minorities, and individuals with disabilities.
