Research Scientist (f/m/d) - Lipid/Polymer Chemistry and Drug Delivery Full-time and permanent

Your key responsibilities:
  • Leading implementation of the LNP-based platform
  • Analyzing and characterizing lipids and lipid nanoparticles using suitable methods
  • Designing and applying lipids for the syntheses of lipid nano-particles (LNP)
  • Acting as formulation subject matter expert for non-viral delivery of nucleic acid therapeutics
  • Generating, evaluating and reporting data
  • Providing data interpretations and summarizing scientific topics, both verbally and in writing
  • Keeping up to date with novel developments in the field
  • Closely collaborating and communicating with team members, project leaders and collaboration partners (internal and external)
Your ideal qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or related scientific disciplines
  • Profound working experience or additional post-graduation experience in a pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology environment
  • Proven experience in designing and optimizing strategies of lipid and/or polymer syntheses
  • Proficiency with the analytical and physicochemical characterization of novel materials
  • Strong working knowledge of, and ideally experience with, novel delivery technologies (e.g. nanoparticles and microspheres) and advanced genetic therapy modalities (e.g. small RNAs, mRNA or DNA)
  • Track record of scientific excellence in terms of scientific publications, patents, and/or conference presentations
  • Awareness of the lipid innovation landscape is a plus
  • Experience with microfluidics and/or jet-reactor production platforms is desirable
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, paired with the competence for trouble shooting
  • Ability to contribute to the progress of your projects, with the initiative to actively communicate with team members and colleagues as well as with internal and external partners
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment
  • Professional language skills in English – both written and spoken, German is a plus
