Job description:

Join us in shaping the future of maritime transport and contribute to the fact that highly automated and cooperatively networked systems will soon become reality in shipping.


In the working group „Maritime Traffic Systems“ of the department “Nautical Systems” at the Institute of Communications and Navigation, scientists and engineers are researching new methods for maritime situation awareness using machine learning and artificial intelligence. Their work should, among other things, contribute to the detection of anomalies in the driving procedures of ships and, on the basis of pattern analysis and their detection, support decision-making under uncertainty.


For this purpose you will lead a group of up to five employees.


Your main tasks are:


technical leadership and coordination of the members of your team participation in the development of methods from the fields of machine learning and artificial intelligence for use in maritime traffic situation determination and assessment publication of results achieved at national and international level acquisition of new projects

You work independently on the tasks mentioned above and coordinate with the head of department on strategic decisions.
