The Centre for Chromosome Biology (CCB) at the University of Galway, Ireland is seeking excellent candidates to be sponsored for establishing an independent research group with an externally-funded research fellowship (e.g. ERC Starting Grant or Wellcome Trust Career Development Awards). The CCB is a cluster of investigators working in the broad area of Chromosome Biology including topics such as cell cycle regulation, DNA repair, replication, gene regulation, chromosome segregation, genome organization and evolution.
Successful candidates will have an outstanding track record in an area that is broadly aligned with the Centre’s research interests. They will be provided with comprehensive support for the preparation of their Fellowship applications.
What we can offer
We offer a dynamic and collaborative research environment. Candidates who are successful in securing funding will be offered a permanent academic position at the University. Successful candidates will be provided with appropriate lab and office space in the Biomedical Sciences Building.
Assessment process
Candidates will be assessed on a rolling basis and those shortlisted for further consideration should expect to hear from the selection committee within 1 month of application. Selected candidates will be invited for an on-site seminar and interview. A final decision to support candidates put forward by the selection committee will be made by University management.
