Westlake University is a new type of research university in Hangzhou, China. It is creating a stimulating, world-class environment for interdisciplinary research and education in physical sciences, engineering and technology, life sciences, and medicine. The Center of Bioelectronic Medicine (CBM) in the School of Life Sciences (SLS) at Westlake University invites applications for multiple tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at all academic ranks.
We seek exceptional candidates to lead vigorous independent research programs in the fields of systems physiology and bioelectronic medicine, investigating the dynamic interplay among physiological systems, such as the nervous system, the immune system, and target tissues, under both normal and pathological conditions. We are particularly interested in candidates who are developing physical tools, such as electrical, thermal, magnetic, and ultrasound stimulation techniques, for disease modulation and health promotion. Competitive candidates must possess a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degrees. They should demonstrate outstanding research accomplishments, have an innovative future research plan, and exhibit the ability to achieve teaching excellence at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, candidates should be committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community in the practice and teaching of science.
Successful applicants will receive internationally competitive salaries and benefits, a generous start-up package, modern laboratory space, and access to state-of-the-art core facilities. SLS has established state-of-the-art animal facilities and core technology platforms, including cryo-electron microscopy, mass spectrometry, flow cytometry, light microscopy, genomics, metabolism, bioinformatics, and high-throughput screening.
SLS is a supportive and vibrant scientific community committed to pursuing questions fundamental to our understanding of biology and disease, developing technologies that benefit humanity and advance human health, attracting the best and the brightest scientific minds, and training the next generation of scientific leaders. SLS has established outstanding graduate and postdoctoral programs and a solid administrative support team. These resources will enable each principal investigator (PI) to freely pursue research with a major long-term impact.
