The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's Center for In Vivo Imaging and Therapeutics is seeking a dedicated and self-driven Senior Imaging Researcher to join its dynamic team. (CIVIT) is at the forefront of preclinical imaging, supporting groundbreaking research efforts across the hospital. Our Preclinical Diagnostic Imaging department offers state-of-the-art imaging services, utilizing advanced technologies such as the Bruker 9.4T MRI, Bruker Si78 PET/CT, Bruker Skyscan 1276 CT, Perkin Elmer IVIS 200, and the Xstrahl Small Animal Radiation Research Platform (SAARP).

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work with scientists and other research personnel, supporting a wide array of basic research and drug efficacy studies. The candidate's main duties will be to handle in vivo work, operate the scanners, and analyze the results. The individual will also need to coordinate with other research laboratories and communicate the results. The candidate will perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the department's goals and objectives, including preclinical imaging study management, image processing, managing laboratory supplies, and routine instrument maintenance.
Minimum Education:
-
Bachelor degree in a relevant scientific area is required.

Bachelor or Master's Degree in Biology, Zoology, Veterinarian/Animal Science, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Neuroscience, or Engineering is preferred.
Minimum Experience:
-
Two (2) years of relevant, post-degree work experience is required.

No experience is required with a Master's degree.

At least one year of hands-on experience in an academic, biotechnological, or pharmaceutical research setting is preferred.

At least one year of in vivo research or veterinary experience is preferred.
Desired skills and abilities:
-
Proficient in handling mice, including restraint and injection.
-
Prior preclinical imaging experience is desired but not required.

Basic understanding of anatomy and aseptic surgical techniques.

Ability to communicate and collaborate with members of a multidisciplinary team.

Strong computer and technical skills for acquisition and analysis of data.

Self-motivated and able to work independently

Organized and meticulous in record-keeping with superb organizational skills and attention to detail.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $60,320 - $105,040 per year for the role of Senior Imaging Researcher.
