The Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, in New York, NY invites applications for tenure-track or tenured faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels.

Mount Sinai has made major recent investments to attract world-class expertise and build cutting-edge resources to fuel advanced research in biomedical data science and advanced technology development. Faculty recruits will be appointed in the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences (GGS), which is ranked #2 nationally based on NIH funding (2023).

We are seeking exceptional candidates with medically relevant research interests, including areas such as: 1) Cancer Genetics; 2) Computational Biology; 3) Drug Development and Clinical Trials; 4) Functional Genomics; 5) Gene Editing and Cell Engineering; 6) Immunogenomics; 7) Microbial Genomics and Pathogen Surveillance; 8) Technology Development; 9) Neurogenomics; 10) Artificial Intelligence.

As biomedical research becomes increasingly interdisciplinary, success will require a breadth of integrated and team- oriented approaches to facilitate directed innovation and discovery. We seek faculty members interested in working
in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment in which multidisciplinary teams of data scientists, technology innovators, and clinical specialists collaborate with the mission of leveraging large-scale data, coupled with applications of advanced multi-modal -omics technologies, to empower a better understanding of disease mechanisms and interventions and to predict, test, and translate novel therapies faster and more effectively.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. (or M.D.) in related fields. Applicants are expected to develop independent research programs and participate in graduate student mentoring and teaching. Senior applicants are expected to have a national or international reputation in their research fields and successful track records of research funding.
