Faculty members will hold joint appointments in one or more academic or clinical departments, including the Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, The Department of Medicine, The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, The Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Medicine, The Department of Pharmacology, Physiology & Neuroscience, and The Department of Radiology. Faculty may also have joint appointments at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, one of only 45 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers, and the only such center in New Jersey. CINJ is a leader in basic, translational, population, and clinical cancer research and cancer treatment (www.cinj.org). The position will be supported by a competitive start-up package with exceptional candidates being considered for further support as Chancellor Scholars. Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is located in Newark, NJ and is part of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (http://rbhs.rutgers.edu/), a division of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
Qualified candidates must have a doctoral degree (MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent), outstanding academic credentials, and have completed a postdoctoral fellowship or be a candidate for the NIH Director’s Early Independence Award. In addition, applicants must have demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding for translational research. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
