The Division of Physics & Applied Physics in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track position at the rank of Associate Professor in Astrophysics. We are seeking a highly qualified individual with a strong research background, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship.

This position is open to all branches of astrophysics, including but not limited to Observational Astrophysics, Theoretical Astrophysics, Cosmology, Astrobiology, Radio Astronomy, Infrared Astronomy, and Gravitational Wave Astronomy. Expertise in using Artificial Intelligence for data analysis is highly valued.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will develop and lead a world-class research program in astrophysics at NTU, securing and managing substantial external funding for research initiatives. They will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in physics and astrophysics, supervise and mentor students at all levels, and promote the international visibility and reputation of NTU’s astrophysics research. Active participation in departmental, college, and university service activities is also expected.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Astrophysics, or a closely related field, with proven excellence in research demonstrated by a significant publication record. The candidate should have experience with innovative teaching methods and curriculum development, as well as a demonstrated ability to secure external research funding. Leadership experience in managing research teams and a strong commitment to education and mentorship are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
An established international reputation in astrophysics is highly desirable. Proficiency in applying Artificial Intelligence to astrophysics research is also preferred.
