Postdoctoral Fellow Position
Department of Breast Medical Oncology
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Chandra Bartholomeusz in the Department of Breast Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The lab focuses on growth factor signaling pathways in breast cancer metastasis; the development of novel therapeutic agents using in vitro models and in vivo models of triple-negative and inflammatory breast cancer; and translational studies to bring pre-clinical agents into clinical strategies for patients with breast cancer.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Qualified applicants must have a recent PhD or MD/PhD degree in biomedical science and at least two first-authored publications in internationally peer-reviewed scientific journals in one or more of the following areas: cancer biology, molecular biology, and cell biology. Experience in cell/tissue culture, basic techniques in molecular biology and cancer biology, multiplex immunofluorescence and a willingness to work with mice is required. Prior experience with mouse work (in vivo surgical techniques, subcutaneous, tail vein, intraperitoneal injections) is also highly preferred. The candidate needs to be self-motivated, conscientious and a team player with a strong work ethic, have critical thinking abilities, good communication, organizational and writing skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. The salary range for a full-time postdoc position will range from $64,000 to $76,000, depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Complete a comprehensive training program in biomedical research with the goal of developing into an independent researcher. Additionally, the trainee will acquire the necessary skills for writing grant proposals in collaboration with the Principal Investigator. The position will be open until filled.
