About the Role
This role is pivotal to the Journals Marketing Planning team, managing the delivery of innovative and impactful marketing through key digital channels.
Reporting into the Head of Journal Awareness the Senior Marketing Manager will create and maintain key digital marketing programs to generate awareness for the portfolio of Springer Nature academic journals.
The role requires strong analytical, communication and organizational skills, combined with the ability to produce and present reports to internal and external stakeholders at a range of levels.
We are looking for an independent, experienced marketer that is comfortable with a data-driven and customer-centric approach to marketing and who is confident working in a fast-paced environment of innovation with experience in managing digital channels including email.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver marketing programs in line with business objectives, collaborating closely with the marketing operations team. Focus on promoting key journals and ensuring effective execution.
- Collaborate with local and global members of the Marketing Planning team to deliver impactful campaigns. Share successes, address challenges, and present insights to the wider marketing department and organization.
- Continuously develop and test both new and proven marketing tactics and channels to meet targets for manuscript submissions, website traffic, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Analyse campaign performance and impact. Adapt tactics and channel mix to optimize KPI conversions, enhance ROI, and drive process efficiencies.
- Regularly deliver comprehensive marketing updates and reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across the organization.
- Proven experience of excellence in digital marketing, using the latest channels and technology, preferably within the online publishing, information, or SaaS industry.
- Experience of managing multiple projects, relationships, and a marketing budget.
- Analyzing data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions to optimize marketing campaigns.
- Reporting and presenting to stakeholders of different levels.
- Marketing data analysis, reporting, presentation writing and delivery. Experience of Google Analytics would be a benefit.
- Experienced in digital marketing including complex email customer journey or CRM programs.
- Creative, organized, self-starter.
- Customer-centric, excellent communication skills with a desire to work in a high-performing, goal-oriented environment.
- Ability to work independently, anticipate required activities/tasks, and work according to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Highly organized and able to comfortably manage multiple projects and relationships.
- Adept at building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
- Working with collaboration and project management tools such as Miro, SharePoint, Marmind.
- Budget management.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Experience of working in a global, matrix team would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of the academic publishing industry
