The University of Lübeck (UzL) is seeking to fill the following position as soon as possible

W2 professorship for “Central Metabolic Inflammation”

Close cooperation with the research groups of the Center of Brain, Behavior and Metabolism (CBBM) and the Cluster of Excellence “Precision Medicine in Chronic Inflammation” (PMI) at the University of Lübeck and the CAU in Kiel is expected. The new professor will focus on inflammatory processes in the brain that are associated with metabolic diseases such as obesity. The research will be carried out in the mouse model. Translational research approaches such as the identification of biomarkers and epigenetic mechanisms that indicate metabolic inflammation in the brain will be carried out. Co-responsibility for teaching in the study programs Molecular Life Science, Infection Biology, Human Medicine and Nutritional Medicine is desired. Experience in neuroendocrinology and animal models is required and knowledge of modern molecular biological methods, e.g. single cell analysis, epigenetics or OMIC analysis is desirable. A collaborative and interdisciplinary way of thinking and technical affinity are of great importance for this field of work.
