The University of Lübeck (UzL) is seeking to fill the following position as soon as possible

W2 professorship for “Tissue Aspects of Immunity and Inflammation”

Institute of Systemic Inflammation Research

Contact person: Prof. Dr. Markus Hoffmann

Close cooperation with the research groups of the Cluster of Excellence “Precision Medicine in Chronic Inflammation” (PMI) at the University of Lübeck and the CAU in Kiel is being sought. The professorship will also be affiliated to the SFB1526 “Pathomechanisms of Antibody-Mediated Autoimmune Diseases”. The new professor will focus on tissue-specific aspects of chronic inflammatory diseases of autoimmune and infectious origin. The adaptation of the tissue to inflammatory triggers is to be broken down multidimensionally, pathomechanisms deciphered and used for therapeutic interventions. The aim is to share responsibility for teaching, for example in the Molecular Life Science, Infection Biology, Human Medicine and Nutritional Medicine degree programs. Experience in modern methods of multidimensional analysis at the cellular level (e.g. spatial transcriptomics, epigenetic analysis methods, organoid systems, metabolic analyses in single cells, modern microscopy, etc.) as well as in animal models is an advantage. A collaborative and interdisciplinary way of thinking and technical affinity are of great importance for this field of work.
