Reporting to Prof. Zhanfeng Cui, OSCAR PI and Dr Petr Jurcicek, Senior Research Scientist at OSCAR, the successful candidate will ideally possess a master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field with industrial experience in one or more of the following areas: Medical devices(mechanical and electronic design, assembly and debugging; implementation of sensors, optical design etc.), Instrumentation and software development (design of firmware and user interface), Microfluidics and applications. Previous roles such as a Research and Development Engineer with a multidisciplinary focus and cross-departmental exposure can be particularly suitable.
Responsibilities:
1. Research and develop new medical devices and initial proof-of-concepts (POCs).
2. Prototyping and initial instrumentation design.
3. Liaison with industrial partners and potential end users to develop new devices and instruments.
4. Contribute to the day-to-day running of an experimental laboratory.
5. Perform other duties as advised by Prof. Cui and Dr. Petr Jurcicek.
Essential:
1. Master’s degree in relevant fields.
2. At least 5 years of working experience in the relevant fields; .
2. Strong evidence of knowledge and experience in the required fields..
3. High degree of competence in experimental R&D work and practical skills;
4. Experience in instrumentation design and prototyping and/or software development;
5. CAD experience, preferably proficient in Solid works;
Desirable:
1. Previous roles such as a Research and Development Engineer with a multidisciplinary focus and cross-departmental exposure can be particularly suitable.
2. Expertise in medical device and instrumentation and software development.;
3. Experience with optics, optical detectors, and physical optics instrumentation.;
4. Experience working with biological samples, and nucleic acid extraction and amplification.;
