We would like to get into contact with outstanding young electrochemists for possible entry in a recruitment program (similar to tenure track) at the University of Bergen, Norway. This program provides particularly good starting conditions to help the successful applicant to realize his/her potential to achieve international excellence. The preferred candidate must demonstrate high scientific competence in electrochemical experimentation, as well as chemical identification and characterization, preferably in the context of electrocatalysis. Ideally this is combined with an interest in new functional compounds and materials for applications, as exemplified by catalysis and energy capture, -storage and – conversion. The right candidate will receive strong local support in the ensuing highly competitive process to win the recruitment grant. While the single most important element of selection is a high level of scientific quality, the applicant’s experience of research management and international collaboration is also an important evaluation criterion.
Additional information about the recruitment program is available at https://mohnfoundation.no/en/the-starting-grant-programme/. Interested scientists with the right background are invited to contact Professors Kristine Spildo (kristine.spildo @uib.no ) and Vidar R. Jensen (vidar.jensen@uib.no) or Head of Department, Professor Magne Sydnes (magne.sydnes@uib.no), all at the Department of Chemistry, University of Bergen, Norway.
Deadline: October 1, 2024
