Spin+X – Spin in its collective environment

situated at the RPTU in Kaiserslautern and the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (Germany) currently offers several open

Ph.D. (75% TVL E13) and Postdoc (TVL E13) positions

The CRC/TRR 173 Spin+X combines the expertise of physics and chemistry to investigate spin phenomena, ranging from microscopic properties to emergent and functional spin phenomena and their coupling to the macroscopic world. Using state-of-the-art experimental and theoretical methods, Spin+X explores new horizons in collective spin effects. Pioneering the concept of Advanced Spin Engineering, Spin+X introduces three novel subfields of spintronics: antiferromagnetic spintronics, orbitronics, and altermagnetism.

PhD students within Spin+X benefit from the Spin+X Young Researcher College, which provides structured graduate training complemented by team supervision and an individual mentoring program.

Both universities are equal opportunity employers and actively encourage applications from women and candidates with severe disabilities. In the case of equivalent qualifications, they will be given preference within the limits of the law. Spin+X is committed to promoting women's careers and improving the balance between work and family life.
