Job Details
Study on magnetic properties of permanent magnets by employing statistical physics approaches. Theoretical research on permanent magnets has traditionally been developed based on micromagnetics. Recently, however, it is becoming increasingly clear that theoretical approaches from the atomic scale are required for a detailed understanding of the mechanisms of the magnetic properties such as coercivity. The successful candidate is expected to study static and dynamical properties of permanent magnets by applying and developing computational methods based on statistical physics, such as Monte Carlo simulations and simulations of the equation of motion.
Affiliation: Quantum Solid State Materials Group, Research Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA), National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Japan
