Two positions (20% time, equal to 7,4 hours/week) as associate professor and/or assistant professor in evidence-based medicine with special interest in randomized trials are vacant as soon as possible at Cochrane Denmark & Center for Evidence-Based Medicine Odense (CEBMO),
Department of Clinical Research, University of Southern Denmark(SDU).

General job description
Potential candidates will be expected
to conduct research, teaching/consultancy, and administrative tasks and to provide guidance in the design and reporting of randomized clinical trials under the auspices of Odense University Hospital's Clinical Trials Unit (CTU). The guidance will focus on development and reporting of trial protocols, issues relating to registration, interpretation of results, data sharing, and reporting of the finished trial. Statistical, legal, and logistical issues relating to trial planning will be addressed by other persons in the Clinical Trials Unit, so the position requires good collaborative skills.
The Clinical Trials Unit started on January 1, 2024, and the Centre’s contribution the first two years will consist of a PhD Fellow (already affiliated) and the present vacancies, under the supervision of Professor Asbjørn Hróbjartsson.
Research tasks
The candidates will be expected to perform research within the center's field of interest, including methodological clinical research, randomized clinical trials and systematic reviews (e.g., Cochrane reviews), and clinical research more broadly. The Centre is involved in developing the CONSORT and SPIRIT reporting guidelines, and hosts the Cochrane Bias Methods group, which develops tools to assess risk of bias in randomized trials.
Teaching/Consultancy tasks
Undergraduate teaching (e.g., introductory course in EBM) and postgraduate teaching (e.g., PhD courses and courses aimed at authors of Cochrane reviews). For the CTU consultancy, see above.
Expectations of qualifications
The successful candidates will be expected to have an interest in clinical trials and methodological research in randomized trials. Experience from providing methodological guidance in a clinical trials unit, is an advantage. A statistical background is also an advantage.
Furthermore, the successful candidate will be expected to have
* a PhD degree within a relevant field
* research experience documented by international peer-reviewed journal articles within the fields of clinical trials and evidence-based medicine
* a documented record of teaching experience and teaching skills
