Post-Doc (m/f/d) in experimental Rheumatology / Immunology

The research group  „TARRAGON - Translational Rheumatological Research Group Bonn”  headed by Univ.-Prof. MUDr. Valentin S. Schäfer who is the Head of the Department of Rheumatology at the Clinic of Internal Medicine III at the University Hospital Bonn, Germany is looking for a post-doctoral researcher. The project will be centered around the identification of molecular patho-mechanisms underlying rheumatic and other inflammatory diseases that present in the associated clinics. Furthermore, the group aims at developing biomarkers and new in vivo disease models to test potential therapeutic interventions. The project is a joined-venture with the Department for Nucleic Acid Immunity & Genome Defense headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Rayk Behrendt at the University Hospital Bonn. 
We are looking for a highly motivated, team-oriented scientist with a genuine interest in immunology and rheumatic diseases holding a first-class PhD the areas of immunology, biomedicine, molecular biology, biochemistry or cell biology and at least one peer-reviewed publication as a lead author. Handling of laboratory mice may be required for the project. 
Both research groups are located on the vivid medical campus that provides instant access to high-end technology platforms of the Immunosensation2 Cluster of Excellence. The groups have state of the art laboratories in the Biomedical Center II (BMZII) and are tightly connected to clinical departments enabling integrative resreach using cell culture models, model organisms and primary patient material to achieve high translational impact of their research.
