The O’Connell lab studies regulation of intestinal and immune development in the premature infant and neonate. We are seeking a curious and creative postdoctoral fellow or postdoctoral associate to lead a project to advance our investigations into the role of postnatal exposures in modulating gut development, particularly in premature infants. Pertinent biological components of this project include developmental biology, stem cell function, and intestinal-immune interactions. An ideal candidate would have experience in intestinal epithelial biology and/or mucosal immunology.

In additional to its scientific aims, our lab also aims to foster a more diverse and inclusive academia. LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, as are candidates with disabilities and “first-generation” scientists. As a member of a team science lab environment, you will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to our lab culture. Please learn more about our lab at https://www.NiiCE.org.
