Job Details

Applications are invited for an investigator Scientist position in the laboratory of Dr Marta Shahbazi at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) within an overall programme on developmental plasticity in the human embryo. Specifically, your focus will be on a project identifying the molecular mechanisms that underlie embryo plasticity. You should have a PhD in a relevant biological subject and significant postdoctoral research experience in early human embryo development. You should have knowledge of the regulations applicable to human embryo research in the UK and the handling of research consent forms and human embryo donations. You will have human embryonic stem cell culture experience and will be confident performing molecular biology techniques and classical embryology techniques such as injections, aggregations, embryo manipulations, embryo thawing, and culture. Experience with confocal imaging and image analysis is a requirement.
