In the context of expanding its activities, UMP6 Canada, the Canadian branch of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, is hiring a HEAD OF EXECUTIVE EDUCATION for a permanent position. The role is based in Montreal, Canada.

Position Dimension:

UM6P Canada aims to develop activities and lead projects at the heart of UM6P's strategic issues, where UM6P has strong expertise in supporting African economic and social development. This includes agriculture, mining, artificial intelligence, energy, renewable energy, and broader sustainable development topics. The implementation project of UM6P Canada is divided into four axes: developing doctoral research activities in Canada on topics where UM6P has strong expertise, developing an Executive Education activity, fostering innovation and creating start-ups in Canada on projects central to these strategic issues, and developing a consulting and service activity in its main areas of intervention.

The holder's mission is to organize and lead the Executive Education activity in its pedagogical, financial, administrative, and logistical aspects: defining the policy and development strategy of the department, building and coordinating UM6P Canada's Executive Education offering in collaboration with UM6P's Research, Scientific, and Technical departments.

Key Responsibilities:

In line with UM6P Canada's orientations and priorities, the Training Department Manager will:

  • Gather and identify needs, define and propose policy and strategic orientations.
  • Conduct educational engineering and design training, as well as research and identify the necessary instructors for training delivery, in collaboration with UM6P's Research, Scientific, and Technical departments; validate programs with experts.
  • Oversee the complete management of the executive training program portfolio: project management of training programs, planning, implementation, supervision of all management stages, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Develop tailored offerings by conducting training needs analysis for UM6P Canada's clients and responding to tenders when applicable.
  • Serve as the interface with clients.
  • Develop the P&L of projects and ensure the financial profitability of programs.
  • Plan, manage, and oversee the budget of the Executive Education department and report to general management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, manage the certification processes (ISO 9001, QUALIOPI, etc.), and conduct mandatory educational and financial assessments.
  • Contribute to communication and relationships with institutions and companies to enhance UM6P Canada's visibility and reputation as a training organization.
  • Represent UM6P Canada with various private or public partners in the field of executive education.
  • Actively monitor the training world: regulatory monitoring, technological watch (pedagogical methods, animation tools, etc.), competitive intelligence.

Context and Environment:

A developing market, the ecological transition, climate issues, and GHG reduction will have a massive impact on African economic and social development, necessitating skills development and talent pool construction in areas such as agriculture, mining, artificial intelligence, energy, sustainable development, and overall African development. UM6P Canada aims to become a major player in talent training in these areas.


Develop a high-level executive training offering in areas where UM6P has strong and differentiating expertise by proposing necessary programs in collaboration with various UM6P departments, such as schools/masters and research laboratories, and winning tenders in the aforementioned fields. Make UM6P Canada's expertise known and promoted.

Profile Sought:

  • Higher education (Bachelor’s degree).
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: project management, development and management of continuing education programs in a leading higher education institution, consulting firm, or training organization; management of corporate training programs.
  • Mastery of training engineering.
  • Good knowledge of training legislation and certification systems.
  • Good understanding of issues related to UM6P's areas of expertise in connection with African development.
  • Excellent knowledge of the higher education and research sector in Canada.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Autonomy, rigor, organization, anticipation, and result orientation.
  • Relational ease, transversal project management, ability to understand economic and strategic issues.
  • Proficiency in training and development tools and technologies.
  • Strong service orientation and team spirit required.
  • Fluent in English and French.
