We seek highly motivated post-doctoral neuroscientists to investigate olfactory processing in the rodent brain in the Sensory and Behavioural Neuroscience Unit ( ) at Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) Graduate University, in Okinawa, Japan.

The positions are for projects that investigate circuit functions of the mouse olfactory system. A variety of projects are possible to choose from or plan together, including: [i] characterizing complex olfactory representations in higher cortical areas such as frontal and cingulate cortices; [ii] development of novel quantitative olfactory tasks with online perturbation; [iii] mechanisms of feedback control in context-dependent olfactory representations. Prospective post-doctoral researchers will use a combination of electrophysiology such as Neuropixels or patch-clamp methods, optogenetics, head-fixed behaviours or two-photon microscopy/in vivo optical methods, depending on the interest and the skill.
