The Faculty of Medicine of the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and the University Hospital Frankfurt, in the Department of Pediatrics (Chairman: Prof. Dr. J.-H. Klusmann), invite applications for the following position as civil servant or public employee starting as soon as possible:

Dr. Rolf M. Schwiete Professor (W2) of

Translational Pediatric Oncology

The professorship is positioned within the Department of Pediatrics and is supported by the Dr. Rolf M. Schwiete Foundation. The professorship represents Translational Pediatric Oncology in its full breadth in research, teaching, and patient care.

We are looking for an outstanding and integrative individual with top-tier experience in translational oncological research, especially in innovative molecular and cellular biology concepts for exploring resistance mechanisms and innovative treatment approaches for oncological diseases in children and adolescents. Experience In the care of sick children and adolescents and proven clinical expertise in pediatric oncology and hematology are required.

A willingness to collaborate closely with all other clinics and institutes at the location is expected. This particularly includes close cooperation within the Department of Pediatrics, which is internationally recognized for its focus on pediatric oncology and stem cell transplantation, as well as participation in the interdisciplinary research cooperation within the University Center for Tumor Diseases (UCT) Frankfurt and the Frankfurt Cancer Institute (FC1).

Prerequisites for employment include a completed degree in human medicine, a doctorate, habilitation or evidence of equivalent scientific achievements, which could also have been attained within the scope of a junior professorship or outside the academic sector, as well as an internationally outstanding research profile in the field of translational oncological research with corresponding third-party funding. Extensive experience in leading research groups is required. Comprehensive experience and engagement in teaching are expected.

The formal hiring requirements are defined in sections 67 and 68 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
