Scope of duties

Are you passionate about revolutionizing the field of arthroplasty implants? Do you have a strong background in biomechanics, possibly including experience in artificial intelligence or robotics? If so, we invite you to join our dynamic team at LMU hospital as a Biomechanical Engineer specialized in Arthroplasty Implants.

The musculoskeletal research laboratory, headed by Prof. Dr. Boris Holzapfel and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Böcker, is seeking a Postdoctoral researcher in (biomechanical) engineering with a specialization in arthroplasty. Your key responsibilities would be:

  • Conduct analysis and evaluation of arthroplasty implants and develop protocols to simulate real-life conditions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement experiments and tests to assess the performance and longevity of arthroplasty implants
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to optimize existing designs and develop innovative solutions for arthroplasty implants

Our requirements

  • The call is intended for an individual who works well in a team and is a self-starter, possessing a wellconnected and (inter)national research profile. The primary emphasis will be on the fields of biomechanics and implant properties.
  • Your qualifications should include:
    • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Biomechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on arthroplasty implants
    • Proficiency in utilizing analytical tools and software for data analysis
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
    • Effective communication skills to present findings, create technical reports, and interact with internal and external stakeholders
