GENETHON recruits: Head of the histopathology and imaging laboratory (H/F)

 

Under the direction of the Head of the Preclinical and Translational Evaluation Department, you lead the realization of scientific studies as a part of research and development projects and develop innovative methodologies for internal and external customers, in compliance with quality procedures, costs and expected deadlines and health and safety rules.

Main Missions:

Scientific and technical expertise in histology and imaging:

  • You are in charge of the development plan of the team: implementation and monitoring of developments and innovations in the areas of expertise, identification of possible sources of financing for large equipment, You drive the development of artificial intelligence tools in the field of image quantification, You technically advise users, You are the leading expert in histology for the project teams, You perform pathology analysis for all non-clinical and clinical projects and on demand for research projects, providing state-of-the-art reporting, You identify subcontractors in your areas of expertise, you supervise the transfer of methods, you carry out scientific support if necessary, You set up and maintain a quality system in the team, You keep technical and scientific watch, You communicate your results and developments internally and at conferences.

Development of interactions with other histological services of the Institute of Biotherapies and maintenance of this network

  • You co-develop innovative methodologies in the field of histology and imaging in collaboration with the collaborating Department at the AIM.

Management of the histopathology team:

-        You set and distribute objectives among team members, develop their skills, monitor their careers, and ensure team building,

-        You report to the management team and project teams, you are the promoter of communication between the management and the histology and imaging team members,

-  You organize and control work by creating performance-friendly working conditions,

-  You adapt practices with a view towards continuous improvement,

-  You recruit employees in collaboration with Human Resources,

-  You participate in the establishment of the budget for your scope of activities; you identify the investments needs.

 

Profile :

 

Scientific or medical training, ideally PhD in biology, MD or VetD, with a strong focus on histology. Pathologist board-certification a plus. You are :

- Experienced in managing a team of technicians specialized in histology and imaging,

- A technical expert in histology, with good knowledge of imaging, particularly in image scanners,

- With good knowledge in image quantification,

- With knowledge or interest in artificial intelligence methods and their applications,

- Focused development, innovation and service,

- An expert in anatomopathology, you will be able to analyze the effects of products on the tissues of laboratory animals and humans and detect signs of acute and chronic toxicity. You will be able to write anatomopathology reports in English, within the expected quality standards and with respect of deadlines.

- You will have strong skills in quality repositories of histology and imaging.
