The Institute of Metabolic and Cardiovascular Diseases in Toulouse, France (I2MC) is recruiting a Director for the 2027-2031 mandate.

Located on the Rangueil university hospital site in Toulouse, the I2MC (, a joint Inserm-Université Toulouse III -Paul Sabatier- research unit, brings together over 280 people (researchers, doctors, pharmacists, engineers, technicians, students, post-docs and administrative staff).


The 14 internationally-recognized research teams study metabolic, vascular, cardiac and renal functions, in physiological and pathological and pathological contexts, using molecular, cellular and integrated approaches, supported by 6 state-of-the-art technological platforms. In a scientific, clinical and technological environment, the I2MC is developing a strong translational activity towards the hospital (clinical trials, serotheque, tissue library, etc.) and industrial development. I2MC teaching and research staff are involved in teaching at the Faculty of Health (Medicine, Pharmacy, Odontology), the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Sport and Human Movement Sciences, enabling high-quality recruitment and supervision of students. The I2MC is attached to Biologie Santé Biotechnologies school of Toulouse.

Its global reach, inventiveness, scientific/technological quality and doctoral supervision make the I2MC a center of excellence for cardiovascular and metabolic research, ranging from knowledge acquisition to socio-economic valorization.

In order to pursue this dynamic development, the I2MC is recruiting an internal or external Director (Research Director or University Professor) who, working closely with the representative with the representative boards, will lead a realistic yet ambitious vision for the I2MC over the nextfive-year period 2027-2031.
