The HiLIFE - Institute of Biotechnology at the University of Helsinki, renowned for its international research excellence, is excited to announce openings for both a Doctoral Researcher and a Postdoctoral Researcher within the Varjosalo Laboratory of Molecular Systems Biology / Pathology. These positions offer a unique opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research aimed at understanding cellular signaling mechanisms in immunology and oncology, employing advanced experimental, computational, and proteomic methodologies.

The ideal candidates will be ambitious and goal-oriented, with a strong foundation in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, proteomics, microscopic techniques, and/or bioinformatics. They should exhibit adaptability, teamwork, excellent communication skills in English, and a keen drive to achieve significant scientific outcomes. These positions are designed to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and professional growth, offering opportunities for lab visits abroad and support in a nurturing environment conducive to career advancement.

For the Doctoral Researcher position, applicants should be in the process of obtaining or have recently obtained a master's degree in a relevant field, with a strong interest in pursuing PhD-level research. For the Postdoctoral Researcher position, applicants must hold a PhD and have substantial experience in related research areas.

Both positions are initially offered for a two-year period with the possibility of extension, including a trial period, and will commence in early spring 2024. Compensation is based on the University's salary scheme, which rewards both task-specific and personal performance.
