Our team is seeking a new Deputy Editor/Team Manager, who will oversee a team of editors dedicated to covering non-communicable diseases (NCDs), public and global health.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A MD, or PhD (or equivalent) in the biomedical, health or clinical sciences, preferably with some post-doctoral or health policy experience.
  • Strong work ethics and understanding of the potential of scientific research to help to reduce health inequalities globally.
  • Demonstrated editorial experience in an NCD-relevant area preferably diabetes and endocrinology, cardiology, public health or global health.
  • Familiarity with the clinical trials landscape, including peer-review and reporting standards.
  • A collaborative spirit: you will be working in a team setting, striving to support and mentor others, and to maximize our collective success.
  • Flexibility: be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment and understanding that our priorities may change with the evolution of medical research and what’s happening in the world.
  • Outstanding organization and time management skills; being able to set priorities for yourself and for others, and to adapt quickly to change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Be eager to meet scientists worldwide, in person and virtually, learn more about them and their research, help them learn more about us and solicit submissions in areas of interest.
  • Previous managerial experience is a plus, but not a requirement.

This is a full-time permanent position, located in our New York or London offices on a hybrid working model.
