Poche Fellow in Melanoma and Surgical Oncology

Applications are invited from qualified General or Plastic Surgeons for the Poche Fellowship in Melanoma and Surgical Oncology.

This program is based at the Melanoma Institute Australia’s North Sydney campus, as well as the Mater Hospital Crows Nest, and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Camperdown.

This position is formatted at a post Fellowship level (FRACS or equivalent) and is suitable for surgeons seeking to develop a vocational interest in the field.

We are offering one clinical and research-based Fellowship, which is for twelve months commencing in February 2025.  The Fellowship involves a substantial clinical workload in dedicated outpatient clinics, operating sessions and weekly multidisciplinary meetings.

The Melanoma Institute Australia is one of the world’s largest melanoma services, and access to its internationally respected Melanoma Research Database provides the opportunity to undertake significant research during this Fellowship.

Applications are accepted from Australian and non-Australian candidates.

Fellowships are available from February/March 2025 to February/March 2026. Applications will close 19 January 2024, with interviews occurring by the middle of February 2024. Role may be open until this date unless a suitable candidate is found in the meantime.

Interested candidates should submit the following:

  • curriculum vitae
  • cover letter highlighting why you want to become a MIA Melanoma Surgery Fellow
  • proof of specialist qualification
  • current medical registration/licensing
  • medical indemnity
  • contact details of three referees

Please address your application to:

A/Prof Robyn Saw, Melanoma Institute Australia, 40 Rocklands Road, North Sydney, NSW, 2060, Australia

Email: Please include in your subject line "Fellow - Surgery".

As this role is based in a medical facility, applicants will need to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

We pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which Melanoma Institute Australia works, and their Elders both past and present, and acknowledge the deep, continuing connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to the land, waters, and sky.
