The Jena University Hospital (JUH) invites applications for a

Professorship for Biological Psychiatry (W2)

to be filled at the earliest possible date.

The prospective appointee (m/f/d) will represent the subject in research and teaching.

We are looking for a personality who is particularly qualified in the field of biological foundations of psychological disorders or psychological resilience, for example through own research on animal models and/or humoral markers. The professorship is intended to link existing systems neuroscience and molecular or cellular investigation approaches at the site at the level of concrete neurobiological pathomechanisms in the sense of vertical translation.The future holder of the position should have excellent scientific credentials based on publications and third-party funding, possess leadership qualities, and be able to situate him/herself in the translational context of the German Center for Mental Health (DZPG) at the Jena site. In addition to a methodological neurobiological or neurophysiological designation, prior experience in linking molecular or cellular approaches to clinical and behavioral phenotypes is generally desired. Support of the research foci of the Faculty of Medicine (sepsis and infectious medicine, aging and age-associated diseases, medical optics and photonics) is also expected.

The requirements for appointment are a university degree in a natural science, psychology or comparable disciplines, as well as medicine, aptitude for teaching at a university level, special competence for scientific work, which is usually proven by a qualified doctorate, as well as the habilitation or equivalent scientific achievements.

Appointment as a professor shall be for life as a civil servant, provided that the legal requirements are met.
