At the Peninsula Medical School there is a unique opportunity to be part of and further strengthen our research in Clinical Neuroscience. We work across traditional boundaries and have attracted significant MRC, NIHR, and charity funding. We bring together world-class research strengths of the University of Plymouth and clinical partners. Within Clinical Neuroscience we have a focus on Brain Tumours and Neurodegenerative diseases especially Dementia, Huntington and Parkinson related disorders. The research in these areas ranges from biomedical research to clinical trials.
The position is in translational biomedical research in any of the above areas. You will be based in the state of the art Derriford Research Facility which is close to Derriford Hospital on the North Campus. We are looking for talented and highly motivated applicants with relevant track record. You must have a PhD, postdoctoral experience with a publication tack record and some experience in supervising graduate students. Ideally you have succeeded in generating some grant income.
Although the position is predominantly research-focussed, you will also be expected to contribute to teaching activities within the medical school up to a maximum 30% teaching activity.

This is a permanent full-time position working 37 hours a week. This position is based at Derriford Research Facility, Plymouth Science Park, Derriford.
The successful candidate may be required to obtain an ATAS Certificate prior to this research being undertaken.
