Salary according to German TV-L E14

The Kerl work group identifies mechanisms of cellular heterogeneity and cellular communication within pediatric tumors to answer translational questions. One focus is the interaction of the tumor cells with infiltrating cells. Therefore we use innovative methods including scRNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, multiplex immunohistochemistry, organoid models and in vivo models.

With the advertisement we are looking for a candidate which will lead the experimental work of the Kerl group. Therefore we expect a candidate with a strong biological background, including experiences in cancer biology, immunology and/or neuronal development. We expect that the candidate has strong experimental experiences (e. g. single- cell technologies, 3D model systems, in vivo models) and experiences in (bioinformatic) data analyses. In addition, the candidate should be experienced in the organisation of a research group and in the acquisition of third-party funds.

Applications are  welcome from highly motivated, team-minded, flexible persons, who are dedicated to science.

The work of the candidate will focus on:

  • Leadership and supervision of research projects and students
  • Acquisition of third-party funds/writing grant applications
  • Coordination of research projects in international collaborations
  • Lab/work group organisation
