The Meat Science group at Huazhong Agricultural University is seeking up to 8 tenure-track faculty positions at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor in the following research areas:
1. Meat processing and by-product utilization (Lipid, protein, flavor).
2. The storage and preservation of meat.
3. Muscle biology & biochemistry (to promote the growth and development of skeletal muscle and adipose tissue by advanced breeding methodologies and precise nutritional strategies).
4. Meat Science 4.0 (based on robotics, smart sensors, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, machine learning and big data).
Associate Professors: Applicants should have a PhD in meat science or food science and postdoctoral research experience (≥ 3 years), a strong publication record, and experience teaching at the university level. Successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor students, and maintain an active research program.
Assistant Professors: Applicants should have a PhD in meat science, food science, a promising research agenda, and potential for excellence in teaching. Successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor students, and conduct research that leads to high-quality publications.
Responsibilities for the Assistant Professor and Associate Professor positions include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting independent research, securing external funding, mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, and participating in service activities within the Department and University. Responsibilities for the Postdoctoral Fellow position include conducting independent research, publishing research papers in top-tier journals, and participating in collaborative research projects. Responsibilities for the Ph.D. position include conducting independent research, completing course requirements, and publishing research papers in top-tier journals.
