The Goethe University Frankfurt am Main invites applications for the position of

Professor (W3) of Pharmaceutical Biology

in the Institute of Pharmaceutical Biology at the Faculty of Biochemistry, Chemistry and Pharmacy. This civil servant or public employee position will start on 1 April 2024.

Applications are invited from scientists whose research addresses a current topic in pharmaceutical biology. This includes topics such as the characterization of biologicals, RNA-based compounds as well as natural substances and their therapeutic effect (in cells, tissues or living organisms), inflammation research, or studies of tissue-regenerative processes – also with KI-based methods.

The future holder of this position should be internationally renowned in this research area. Willingness to work closely with the Faculty of Biochemistry, Chemistry and Pharmacy and to participate in research collaborations at the Goethe University (see  (s. https://www.uni-frankfurt.de/102791085/Forschungsschwerpunkte und https://www.uni-frankfurt.de/forschung-goethe-universitaet).) is expected. In particular, participation in current research networks in the research profile areas Molecular & Translational Medicine and Structures and Dynamics of Life as well as in the Rhein Main Universities network is expected.

The future holder of the position will cover Pharmaceutical Biology in the existing Pharmacy teaching programs. Experience in teaching Pharmaceutical Biology and a license as pharmacist is desired. University teaching skills are expected.

The formal hiring requirements are defined in sections 67, and 68 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
