We invite highly motivated candidates to apply for a PhD fellowship in the Molecular Pharmacology (Julien Hanson) & Translational research in Nephrology (François Jouret) labs at the Interdisciplinary Cluster for Applied Genoproteomics (GIGA) of the University of Liège, Belgium.

The project aims at studying the function and pharmacology of the Succinate Receptor (SUCNR1), G protein-coupled receptor signaling and drug discovery in the context of renal diseases. The project will involve molecular biology of receptors, biochemistry of signaling, screening of ligands as well as cellular and animal models. The fellowship aims at the obtention of a PhD diploma after 48 months of research. The position can start between October 2023 and January 2024.

The individual will be expected to have high motivation and broad autonomy. He/she will also interact with other research groups and members of the team. He/she will actively participate to everyday management of the lab and to the seminar program of the GIGA institute.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

- Master in Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Biochemistry, Molecular/cellular Biology.

- Experience in molecular & cellular biology techniques is a plus.
