Responsibilities
The Zhao Lab is looking for a laboratory technician. The individual is expected to perform routine laboratory procedures according to standardized protocols and report results. She/He receives detailed instructions on assignments and regular supervision. This long-term position provides an excellent opportunity to learn mouse genetics and molecular techniques. It also allows the individual to gain experience in general lab management.

Responsibilities will include:
- Managing mouse colony: updating strain database, setting up breeders and genotyping by PCRs
- Euthanizing animals and preparing tissue
- Making common buffer/solutions and maintaining lab stocks of chemicals
- Ordering reagents for the lab


Qualifications
General Education Diploma with solid understanding of mathematical calculation. Should be familiar with general lab techniques and basic knowledge of technical/functional procedures. Basic computer skills to include knowledge of Internet software, order processing system, and Microsoft Office software. Must have the ability to carefully follow written and verbal instructions, be highly motivated, conscientious, and highly dependable.
