Yazhouwan National Laboratory, established in 2022, is an innovative scientific research institution located in Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, Sanya, Hainan Province, China. The Laboratory is committed to create new management mode for scientific institutions, focus on major needs of national food security and the forefront of international science and technology, conduct strategic, forward-looking, and fundamental research and foster technological innovation in agricultural biological breeding. The Laboratory aims to build a leading national strategic force in bio-breeding, create a breakthrough, pioneering, and integrated platform, and strive to become a world-class Laboratory.

Currently, Yazhouwan National Laboratory has 10 research teams focusing on major grain crops, oil crops, as well as key livestock and poultry breeds. The Laboratory is dedicated to making breakthroughs in frontier science and technology of biological breeding, core germplasm creation and large-scale identification, as well as precise design and major varieties breeding which involve fundamental theoretical research, technological research, and strategic variety breeding in biological breeding.

The construction of Yazhouwan National Laboratory has received strong support from government, Hainan Province, Sanya, and Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City in terms of policies, funding, and talent. In response to major needs and issues in seed industry, Yazhouwan National Laboratory is collaborating with seed industry enterprises to promote technological innovation, frontier innovation, variety design, as well as development and application. The Laboratory has established research teams that span the entire innovation chain. Meanwhile, the Laboratory has strengthened collaborative research through comprehensive measures such as the employment of chief scientists, management support, performance assessment, and evaluation of benefits.

In the future, the Laboratory will be developed into a strategic scientific and technological force in biological breeding, in accordance with the national macro-strategic planning. Salary description (Max 100 Chars, could be a range or text) 

(Ⅰ) Remuneration: Junior Scientist/Engineer (550,000 RMB or more); Director Scientist/Engineer (1,100,000 RMB or more); Senior Scientist /Engineer (1,700,000 RMB or more); The remuneration of Chief Scientist is determined through Case-By-Case. (Including salaries, welfare, taxes and fees, endowment insurance, medical insurance, unemployment insurance, employment injury insurance, maternity insurance, housing provident Fund and supplementary pension, etc.)

(Ⅱ) Remuneration for research fellow is 400,000 RMB or more. (Including salaries, welfare, taxes and fees, endowment insurance, medical insurance, unemployment insurance, employment injury insurance, maternity insurance, housing provident Fund and supplementary pension, etc.)

(Ⅲ) Qualified applicants can be assisted in applying for the recognition of High-Level Talents in Hainan Province, as well as Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City Talent Recruitment Rewards (rang from 400,000 RMB to 4,000,000 RMB), eligibility to purchase affordable housing, public school enrollment for their children, and talent settlement incentives, etc.

(Ⅳ) The laboratory will give priority to renew or hire research fellow based on their performance during their period of employment. Research fellow who achieves outstanding results during their employment period can be directly employed as scientist or staff.
