The Department of Neurosurgery at the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine, University of Texas Health San Antonio is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor with a strong commitment to developing a clinically productive academic neurosurgery career.

The Department seeks a neurosurgeon who wants to advance their academic career in the following sub-specialty:

Pediatric Neurological Surgery

Job Duties:

Provide patient care for patients of University Hospital, Medical Arts & Research Center, Baptist Health System, and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital expected to open in 2023.

Participate in call coverage at University Hospital, a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and three (3) Level IV NICU’s for pediatric and adult cases

Provide didactic lectures, workshops, and mentorship to residents

Provide clinical setting training for residents and medical students

Qualifications for this position include:

Graduate of an accredited LCME medical school

Successful completion of training in an accredited neurosurgical residency

Candidates should be United States Board eligible/certified in Neurosurgery and Pediatric Neurosurgery

Meet the requirement for medical licensure to practice in the State of Texas

Meet the requirements for credentialing and privileging

 Academic rank, salary and benefits will be commensurate with training and experience.  All faculty appointments are designated as security sensitive positions.
