Post 1. A postdoctoral research associate position is available to work on analysis of mechanisms underlying endothelial-to-haematopoietic transition (EHT) and haematopoietic stem cell (HSC) development. You will use primary embryo cell cultures and ES cells to explore effects of mechanical cues and signalling microenvironment on EHT and HSC development. We have long standing expertise in developmental haematopoiesis. We will employ micropatterned substrates to enhance precision and manipulation of culture conditions (collaboration with Dr G. Blin’ group “Quantitative Biology of Pattern Formation”.
Post 2. Bioinformatician (postdoc). We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic bioinformatician to investigate cellular and molecular markers of human umbilical cord blood (UCB) that correlate with transplantation outcomes. We investigate mechanisms underlying development and regenerative potential of haematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) during embryonic development. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the laboratory and collaborate within our International Consortium, which includes experts in machine learning, haematopoietic stem cell biology, cord blood banking and clinical haematology. You will also be involved in analysis of haematopoietic differentiation using primary embryonic tissues and ES cells.
